THE DUTCH REGALIA

The coronation was never introduced in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, however, two sets of regalia were produced for ceremonial use. The monarchs usually take an oath on the Constitution in Amsterdam’s Nieuwe Kerk, which serves as the act of their official accession to the throne of the Netherlands (Wiliam I took his oath in Brussels in 1815).The Dutch regalia are kept at the Royal Palace Noordeinde in The Hague and unfortunately are not on public display. They include the following items:
-The crown, the orb and the sceptre of William I (1815),
-The crown, the orb, the sceptre and the sword of William II (1840).
